Camerons worst movie

Really.. The whole movie looks so artifical, you never believe Pandora is a real place.. It's more of a Video Game.
The characters are thin and the Story is more like Pocahontas in Space.
What happened to Cameron? I Love his movies; Titanic and Terminator 1+2 are some of my all-time-favorites, but after 12 years he hadn't a better script? That's really annoying

reply

yeah, it really sucks...

I saw it in 2010 and I thought it was awful. I'm not watching the extended edition, after reading that the more detailed introduction makes it better... well, it still sucks. I don't know if I can make it through this again. :)

reply

2.7 Billion.

reply

2.7 billion doesn't make it good. I liked the film, but money does not equate good. I mean, have you seen the crap that's on the top 20?

reply

If 2.7 billion doesn't make Avatar a good movie, then what is a reasonable amount of money that would make it good?

reply

Nothing. The Fast and the Furious movies are not good and they make a killing. Justin Bieber sells albums like crazy and he makes my ears bleed.

Well that doesn't make any sense. The Force Awakens made 2 billion, is that a good movie?

reply

Not sure if that response is for me, or if it's from the deleted comment above. Sounds like it was for them, but I can't be sure.

reply

reply

Avengers: Age of Ultron made 1.4 billion, is that a good movie as well?

reply

Transformers: Age of Extinction made 1.1 billion, is that a good movie too?

reply

Ghostbusters (2016) made $229,147,509. Is it the best movie ever?

reply

and yet it is the highest-grossing Cameron movie to date (and also the highest-grossing movie of all-time overall).

Although Avatar is not my favourite film from Cameron, I still prefer Titanic and the first 2 Terminator movies he directed, but you cannot deny the fact that Avatar is still Cameron's most financially successful movie by far.

reply

true. But that doesn't make it a good movie.

reply

Since that's a feat that only a handful of other films have accomplished, most of which are iconic masterpieces - like GWTW, Star Wars, Jaws and Titanic, yes, that kind of success does show that Avatar is a great film.

reply

No, it shows that it's a popular film that cashed in on the 3D craze. That's it.

reply

The Wizard of Oz doesn't look or feel that realistic either. That doesn't change how beautiful, effective and awesome it is as a film. That's what Avatar is. The Wizard of Oz of our time. It's the greatest technical achievement in film history and it is perfectly crafted to transport audiences into the colorful, cartoon-like world of Pandora... much like what Victor Fleming and Judy Garland did for audiences back in 1939.

Cameron doesn't have to make your kind of film every time. All that matters is that he bring his craftsmanship and dignity to each project. And you can see that he did that in spades in every shot and scene of Avatar.

Get off your soapbox while I play you a tune on the tiniest violin.

reply

Wizard of Oz is a better film than this puke loves rose, that one is a masterpiece, this one isn't.

"Unicorn, mermaid, vampire, sorceress! No name you'd give her would surprise me i love whom i love"

reply

that is a matter of opinion, I think Avatar IS a 'masterpiece' in terms of its grand use of special effects at the time...though the story itself is very cliche, but this film's main selling point is the beautiful special effects, which was considered 'revolutionary' at the time.

reply

Your just a sockpuppet for Pukelovesfilm28.

The effects may look pretty but the script stinks.

well hello there JohnMcCrap1981

reply

JohnMcCain1981 or whatever the hell his name is now is on ignore for a reason. Also, I rate Titanic as my least favorite Cameron film. Not Avatar.

Fluttershy loves Discord

reply

agreed.much like Lucas with 'The Phantom Menace' Cameron went 'full cgi' with 'Avatar' and thus the whole movie felt very artificial and empty.

reply

This movie was awesome. WTF is wrong with you?!

reply

It's a good movie but the script is similar to other films like Dances With The Wolves and Ferngully. His worst film is The Abyss.

reply

His worst film is The Abyss.

If that's his worst, then I don't think Jim has any reason to worry about his legacy.

reply

I can't believe this is the highest grossing movie of all time. Why were we fooled back in 2009 into thinking this was a good-looking moving? You are right, it looks extremely artificial.I haven't even touched on the writing, characters, or acting. The strength – supposedly effects – alone are enough to criticize this movie. It's a really bad looking movie.

No, Titanic is easily his worst POS.
