I thought it was Ok, but it came out way too late to capitalise on the buzz that was going on when the original came out. I'd say if it came out in 2007 or 2008 it would have gone down better. I feel the same way about these supposed Avatar sequels that are coming out.

Very true about the Avatar sequels. Hell, Sam Worthington has less star power than your average TikTok user, and 3D has long since died a death.

Cameron could have made several more classics or finally released True Lies and The Abyss on blu ray, instead he has wasted everybody’s time on these uncalled for sequels to his worst film.

Weirdly, Cameron and Rodriguez collaborated on Alita: Battle Angel, which was actually pretty decent, but yeah Rodriguez seriously missed the boat with Sin City 2. It felt like his heart wasn’t in it, he just reheated the franchise after a series of flops and it had none of the skill, care, or creative energy that went into the original, the cast was getting stale, the stories were meh, the culture had forgotten about Sin City and people wanted colourful, kid-friendly Marvel superheroes, not rapists, mass murderers and paedophile heroes who blow their own brains out.

Perhaps the saddest thing about Sin City 2 is that it felt like the edges had been sanded off, other than Eva Green’s gratuitous boobs it wasn’t pushing the boundaries like the first film.

It was coming nearly a decade too late to capitalize on the first film's success, when the film came out the hype for the sequel had ended, if it had been made in 2007 or 08 things could've been different.

reply

It's not as good as the first one

reply

It is a sequel to Sin City. The sequel that came way too late, and it was aimed at white audience. White audience usually can concentrate, so can you expect them to tolerate weak narratives? So ofcourse it bombed.

reply

Because some folks would rather see whatever the Disney machine shits out

reply

Cuz it was hard for me to pleasure myself to Eva Green while sitting in the middle of the theater. Have some booths you insensitive pricks.
