Won't kids today find this difficult to relate to?

Surely they'll be baffled cause it involves the old-fashioned way of doing things where folks do everything they can to stop psychotic killer(s), rather than just waiting for them to strike and then changing their Facebook pic to a flag that represents the latest victim?

I dunno, have you asked any?

None showed up until now.

and what did they tell you?

Thank God they respect me and not you!

Oh my god. If you were a teacher and you tried to deliver a line *that fucking lame* to a real bunch of kids, they would laugh you off the planet.

For sure. Zodiac actually would be impossible today, he would be caught extremely quickly.

The big killers of today go in with the quick bang, school shootings and mass slayings where the killer usually ends up turning the gun on himself when his fun is over.

You really thought you did something here, didn't you?

reply

Don't forget them using hashtags to honor the victims and the new media falsely reporting that the killer was seen wearing a MAGA hat.

Ordinary citizens of that area didn't do everything they could to stop the psychotic killer, they felt helpless and afraid. It was the police, the staff of the Zodiac's favorite newspaper, and the puzzle geeks who deciphered some of his codes, who were doing everything in their power! Which wasn't enough, the Zodiac eluded them all and presumably died without ever being prosecuted.

The internet has actually allowed ordinary citizens to participate in finding criminals, in a way that wasn't possible in the 1960s or 1970s, when all people could do was to report suspicious activity and hope the police took it seriously. Now there's Websleuths and other such discussions, not that much useful has come out of all those people trying to involve themselves. As I understand it, mostly people make shit up and pass rumors and lies around as facts, and harass people who have some association with the case, and actually make it harder for the police and FBI to do their jobs.
