Star Beast overnight viewing numbers a MEAGER 5.08 million

Of course the LGBT Mafia are trying to spin these low numbers as a massive victory. LOL! https://www.tvzoneuk.com/post/drwho-starbeast-overnightratings

reply

"Overnight figures show The Star Beast had an average audience of 5.08m from 6:30pm on BBC One. It was the second most-watched programme of the day across all channels, behind Strictly Come Dancing.

Posting figures any TV drama could only wish for in 2023, Doctor Who beat ITV's I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here and became the biggest drama launch of the year."

reply

Yes, we already know you don't watch Doctor Who and are just posting out of ignorance. Thanks for reminding us, though.

reply

I just quoted your article.

reply

"Of course the LGBT Mafia are trying to spin these low numbers as a massive victory."

^Aaaaand I already covered this.

reply

What does this have to do with the "LGBT mafia"? Are you of the impression that being the most watched drama of the year in the UK is a sign of failure?

reply

Tells you right there in the article you've linked to that 5.08m is not meagre or a low number for a UK TV show in 2023.

It really would help if you learned a thing or two about countries that are foreign to you before pontificating on them like some kind of unstoppable moron.

reply

One could say the show is still suffering from Long Chibnall, but it was the second-most watched thing! Not to be sniffed at.

reply

Exactly. It could be number on but these type of people would still try to spin it.

The episode did great and some will be watching later. I have no worries

reply

I legit think Guitar King doesn't realise that the UK population is 4 times less than the USA.

reply

1/5th of the US. 8% of UK watched it.

reply

where did you get the numbers that show 1/5 of the US watched it?

reply

He said the UK population is 1/5th of the USA

reply

Although if RTD can get 1/5th of the US population to watch it, I think Disney might attempt to buy the BBC.

reply

Star Beast is the 60th Anniversary Special, the 50th Anniversary Special got 10.2 million viewers. HALF the audience is GONE. Facts don't care about your wittle woke feelings.

reply

Yes, 10 years ago when more people watched TV and Doctor Who was a bigger franchise.

Strictly Come Dancing beat it then too. More people watched live terrestrial TV then.

reply

LMFAO!

reply

Doctor Who has declined. But that's because its generally declining. But the fact that less people watch TV now is undeniable.

reply

ROTFLMFAO!

reply

So you have no arguments.

reply

Guitar king can I ask a serious question. You obviously don't seem to enjoy the show so why do you bother with it? Why not find something else?

Like I'm all for sharing opinions but you have an agenda. When a show is the second biggest of a night you can't say it's doing bad. Go and post on all the boards for the other shows of the night and tell people they'll be cancelled as they must be doing terrible by your own logic.

The rating argument is getting tiresome. It's also important to note the UK uses barb boxes for the general none iPlayer ratings so it's always just an average and could be even higher arguably.

But yeah I don't see anything to worry about but when something doesn't fit your agenda you twist it so it does in your head. It's obvious you don't like where the show is heading and people do move on and change so there's no harm in finding something else and moving on. You'll probably even feel better for it.

reply

Nah, since a show I enjoyed has been killed by perverts I will now get enjoyment seeing it fail in it's new, perverted form.

reply

It's not failing though. You just want it to fail.

There's a load of YouTubers currently that basically critisie the show but often they don't didn't have an issue with these stuff previously. The same people who didn't like the fact Bill was a lesbian had no problem with Jack's sexuality and Bills sexuality wasn't explored as much as Jack's.

As I've said if a show isn't working for you why bother bashing it. I'm behind on Marvel and feel it's overstayed it's welcome currently. I'll probably catch up but I'm not going to bash it constantly. People change and grow out of things and there's nothing wrong with that

reply

Doctor Who has literally been "woke" or progressive in form since its inception. And what is "perverted" about it?

reply

Name the tranny episodes from DW's inception.

reply

Do you think the only way to be "woke" is to include transpeople?

In any case, look up some history: https://tardis.fandom.com/wiki/Transgender

reply

You're saying Doctor Who has always been this way, so where are the openly preachy trans character tv episodes before 2023?

reply

I mean "this way" in terms of being sociallly progressive. It's always been 'preachy' since its revival.

reply

What is your favorite Doctor Who episode?

reply

I don't have one. I think it's lame, but I think it's lame for reasons other than being 'woke'. It's just family-friendly kiddy stuff

reply

Yeah, you're just arguing out of ignorance AGAIN. Piss off.

reply

The series has been accused of being "woke" for years dude.

reply

Piss off. Come back after you've actually watched some full seasons, POSER.

reply

I have no interest in watching it. Although I have seen episodes in the past, I outgrew it.

reply

Piss off and tell your boss at the bot farm you work for you failed your mission.

reply

And what "mission" is this, exactly?

reply

"Defend The Message at all costs," obviously. And to keep responding endlessly.

reply

You reply, it pings my notifications. And I'm not sure how I "defended" this here really. I am not here on any mission. I choose what I reply to. Doctor Who is dated now but its decline is pretty organic.

reply

Well, you wouldn't know since you're a non fan posting out of ignorance.

reply

I mean I do kinda know. I'm British. It's been declining for some time.

reply

That's rich considering a lot of the people complaining about so called wokeness aren't watching the show.

A guy keeps posting bill is the worst companion and has never watched her episodes

reply

it only became preachy since 2018

reply

And yet people have been claiming it is preachy since at least 2005. Indeed, you can find Daily Mail articles from the 1970s querying Doctor Who's politics... but 2005 onwards stands out because, of course, we had the internet. And a vocal minority of people complained about its 'political correctness' and especially what they believed was Russell T. Davies's 'gay agenda'.

Plus ça change!

reply

Let's see the numbers for the second special ...

after all the themes in this one I wouldn't be surprised if they drop quite a bit.
