The Trump fiasco...

And here we have it... not content with everything else social justice warrior style, now they throw in a megalomaniac guy, give him a hotel, and have everyone around him kowtow to his demanding, arrogant ways.... but to avoid any direct reference, just say... "You're that guy!"

This season is destined to failure. They've taken Doctor Who and turned it into a new age parody of itself. Not only is whittaker not standing up to the role, but I don't even feel like I'm watching Doctor Who... this is more like the Sarah Jane chronicles meets Torchwood.

Sad days in history...

Cue the usual suspects to harangue my sentiments.. lol

reply

Yeah they say "you're that guy" as if he's at least somewhat popular. Then they explain that he's a rival of Trump's. So they go our of their way to clarify that it's not Trump.

The fiasco here is the fuckin weirdos with agendas who don't pay attention and go out of their way to demonstrate it.

reply

Come off it, they are playing on Trump's persona, and YOU know it. TO what end? Just to have it part of this season, nothing more. It ties in perfectly with the other tripe being bandied about.

It detracts completely from everything else, and quite frankly, is boring.

--eta

And more to the point, the actor has even stated he 'channeled' trump for the part.

reply

His persona? He was a wealthy businessman going into politics.

That's not a persona.

Good for the actor. Still not a persona.

reply

Yes, his persona. Playing Trump. Oh, sorry, playing Trumps long lost adversary.... but cut from the same cloth.

It's ALL an anti-Trump fest, make the business man the bad guy from the start.

You either see it, or you're being completely disingenuous.

It is absolutely the angle the writers are going for, which is, cashing in on the socialist agenda, and forgoing anything to do with doctor who. Oh throw in some spiders, it will keep the mouth breathers gasping.

Doesn't take a sonic viewer to see the faults are massing up....

reply

Funny how the unscrupulous business man has been a staple baddie in movies since the thirties but when this sack of shit gets in the Whitehouse it's suddenly all about him.

Responsible disposal of toxic waste is not a socialist agenda.

What the hell are you smoking?

Does that mean you can't be anti toxic waste without being anti trump and left wing? What a pathetically reductive argument? Get a life and a clue.

reply

So. you're saying you don't see this now, as a complete play on Trump?

They could have done this episode a thousand different ways.

You're a fool... and I already know this. GO back to your league of legends..

reply

If a hotel full of big spiders is your idea of a complete play on Trump, and it threatens your Trump-Daddy fantasies, then you are the one in deep trouble.

reply

hue hue

whatever, you're an idiot.

reply

OMG that hotel full of spiders is socialist propaganda. It's fake news!!!! Build a wall to keep that nasty woman doctor out. She's an alien. Make toxic waste spiders great again.

reply

Jesus.. Look at your fucking irritated wet crap. Typical when you are unable to argue back..

Put down the bike lock martoto, go back to your games.

reply

well said Martoto!

reply

Face it, the only ones who would engage in this episode, are the left wing anti-trump people who like to infiltrate everything that they see, because, we as a world, are bereft of anything like free thought, and it is up to them, the socialists, to encourage us onto the right path.

You're a prime example, so far. Prove me wrong.

please...

reply

[deleted]

Me, personally, I'd be happy with her as the doctor, if' they'd just cut this shit out....

reply

Me too! The beeb is so pc and leftie they don't even realise it.

reply

Judging from your posts, it's right up your ally. Can't even handle someone elses opinion, so REEEEEEEEE....

lmfao.

reply

Just because I learned long ago in my physics lessons that multiple light sources produce multiple shadows? Basic science is not based on opinions. I thought that it was acceptable here to disagree with others, doesn't seem much point otherwise.

Do you make a point of pi$$ing off all newbies or is it just me?

reply

I think you hit the wrong reply there, pilgrim.

reply

Make sense please!

reply

[deleted]

Because you said "Judging from your posts, it's right up your ally. Can't even handle someone elses opinion, so REEEEEEEEE...."

What posts were you referring to if not the ones regarding 3 shadows from 3 suns?

reply

[deleted]

Well, evidently I'm right. You just like pi$$ing people off. I don't really give a shit about you either, in fact with you on here I'm surprised anyone else bothers to post anything.

It was you who dragged my other posts into this thread, not me.

reply

So you come into another thread, complaining about things that have nothing to do with the topic being discussed, and claim you are right?

you entered into MY thread about Trump being portrayed, and proceeded to sook about your prowess at physics giving your some godly powers about shadows.

You're an imbecile.

fuck off.

BY THE WAY IDIOT, YOU CAME INTO MY THREAD, IDIOT.

You have to be the weakest troll ever, or a friend of the idiot I knew I'd drag into this thread, or pretty much the most inept braindead loser I've ever encountered.

I'll opt for troll...

reply

[deleted]

Ahhh yes, I fell for it.. My bad.. :)

no play for you honey buns...

It's the price we have to pay for the left not getting their desired president. Doctor Who is very US orientated nowadays, and plays to the political activist crowd. I used to watch Doctor Who, any political stances they took were subtle and didn't divide audiences like they do today. I've never watched a single episode of modern Who and I wear that as a badge of honour.

reply

Check the first 4 seasons (Eccleston and Tennant). As good as the old one. The Matt Smith era is so-so. The Capaldi and Jodie Whittaker eras are just plain garbage.

reply

A goof on my part, I have watched some of the Eccleston and Tennant episodes but I've became disenfranchised with it this past 10 years and haven't watched it since then. Tennant was great in the role, he was Who.

reply

Eccleston was quite good too, though you appreciate it more in a second watch (he shines when the series goes slightly darker, unfortunately, first season scripts were way cheesy). Matt Smith, on the contrary, seems overrated to me. But still, he gets the job done. In comparison, Jodie Whittaker is a bad joke.
