No They Weren't

I really liked it too. From my strictly civilian point of view it shows what one would imagine the total chaos and ever-changing map of a battle would look like. Much like in Blackhawk Down or Lone Survivor this movie makes you genuinely nervous for The Boys in the middle of the fight.

It was pretty powerful and jarring.

Horribly overdramatic with both music and visuals, as if the film was made for people whose senses are not working properly. There was zero room for subtlety.
Also the hypocritical praying for his own troops... don't order them to kill their fellow man if you don't want them to die, you fake Christian!
And finally, Mel Gibson as John Wayne is an even worse actor than John Wayne himself.
