Jada Pinkett Smith ruins this movie for me...

.....she is the one thing that brings this movie down a notch for me. From the bad acting, casting and just knowing how much of a prick she is...lol

I used to feel the same way about her in this movie. For example, her acting in the matrix scenes never necessarily felt out of place to me, and yet... I still thought her delivery and mannerisms came off as so force, it was almost as if she was in a parody. Needles to say, this was grating and I can’t say I ever looked forward to her scenes.

But for some reason, I’m no longer bothered by her. Maybe it’s because she’s grown on me as an actress (in certain movies), or it could be that I like her just fine in the “real word” scenes. Perhaps another actress could have been better in the part, but Jada is suitable.

And by the way, Reloaded has always been a solid sequel in my eyes.

She was more robotic than the machines. They should have cast her as an agent. Will tried the same emotionless "acting" in After Erff

She probably has a total of like two minutes of screen time, I didn't really care about her presence in the movie one way or the other. Except for one thing.

When she does the wire-fu "jump" over the security guard in the power station. The stunt team did their part, pulling her up and letting her drop... It's on the actor to "sell it" to the camera, and she didn't even try. She looks so totally lame in that moment, I blush with second-hand embarrassment every time I see it. I'll bet they did a bunch of takes the rest were even worse and eventually they sighed and said "Apparently that's as good as it's gonna get, let's move on..."

I didn't like her acting or role in this movie, but I felt it was only a contributing factor to the many problems of the film. In addition to her, I struggled with the awful CGI (even for 2003 standards), confusing confrontation with the architect, and the cliffhanger ending.
