It's US theatrical release date was January 19th, 2001.

So because its an abbreviation of a proper noun, that somehow discredits my point that Canada is not the same as US? 🤔

Canada and USA are grouped together in terms of movie industry and box office numbers.

They are always released the same time in both countries.

Everything I found online said US was January 19th 2001. Memories play tricks in us all the time. Maybe you saw it the following fall in a special release or the cheap theaters. We had one that always showed movies that were about 6 months old, but the tickets were 2 dollars. Hard saying.

It probably had a limited release at the very end of 2000, but didn't get the wide theatrical release until
2001.
