Strange, but I keep routing for Kevin Bacon

Every time I watch it I end up routing for Kevin Bacon's character because everyone else is so boring.

It's the weirdest thing with this movie.
Then when she blows him with the fire I'm thinking, that b*tch.
He almost made it.
I was more interested in seeing what he would do after leaving the lab than whether the rest of the cast survived or not.

Few movies have such a boring characters so arrogant, and unlikable that I actually want the bad to win.

Kevin Bacon's character, even as psychotic as he is, seems to be the only character in this movie to possess any depth.

What route do you take? The scenic, or the fastest?

Got to admit, I was rooting for Sebastian in the end too.

And yes the rape was disturbing, and so was when he fondled the other girl when she was sleeping. And when we really think about it, Sebastian was a bit of a perv even before he became invisible. Not only does he make it a point to be nude in front of his female coworkers, but he makes sure he has their attention and acts as though they should be thrilled to see him. But I still like him better than any of the other characters.

Think it's because Kevin Bacon has a certain loveablity about him and has a screen presence that none of the other cast members come close.

What kind of router did you use?

reply

Me too, I so wanted him to get away. Those scientists were stupid.

reply

Looking back the characters are pretty badly written.

reply

Except for Kevin Bacon, he was a ton of fun.

LOL despite the fact that you can't even f-cking see him for the majority of the film.

A ROGUE'S GALLERY OF SELF CENTERED,UNLIKABLE CHARACTERS WILL MAKE YOU ROOT FOR THE INVISIBLE PSYCHOPATH.

You have this aspect of it being told from the Invisible Man's perspective, There's something about the original story and the most recent movie where it's told from other people's point of view not the Invisible Man which made him more threatening, you don't get any of that with Hollow Man/Sebastian he just feels like a lovable pervert especially when it's Kevin Bacon in the role.

Think the more you show of a villain the more likely it is the audience becomes overly familiar with them and is just no longer threaten by them.

The only real positive thing of the film is Kevin Bacon.
