This is a guilty pleasure of mine....

I remember when I saw ads for this, I thought, "LAME! Watered down Hitchcock??" (forgetting that DIAL M FOR MURDER is far from being one of his masterpieces, anyway.) I'm also not huuuuge fans of Paltrow and/or Douglas under most circumstances (though she's excellent in HARD 8 and EMMA), so I ended up seeing it at the dollar movie theater at the tail end of its release....AND I LOVED IT!

Everyone's perfectly cast, and it's the first time I saw Vigo "Dreamboat" Mortensen.

This is also a film with top-notch physical production; it just looks really, really good.

Does anyone else kind of secretly love this movie?

Hi Cookie L.A.,

I hope you get a notification for my post. Me and another poster MovieManCin2 are great movie buffs just as you are. We are considering starting a "film discussion club" (or film discussion group if that's clearer). The idea as of now is that "members" of this club will choose a film by consensus (that we have all watched, or if you've not watched the film, you DO watch it) and then one of us opening a thread on that movie's board and posting discussion questions that we all answer. It's just a means to get us talking about films that we love and exchange ideas. We are looking for intelligent, knowledgeable posters to join this group, and we would love to have you join us to enrich our discussions. Would you be interested? This is not a formal thing. You can participate as much or as little as you like. If you are interested, please do reply to this post, and I will get back to you with more details. No problem if you're not interested. Thanks for your time!

Yes, and not even secretly. It's one of my favourites, along with Fatal Attraction, What Lies Beneath and Unfaithful.
