Why can't one stop watching it?

When it's on tv? I mean I know it's terrible, it is a terrible film but you still have to watch it. Kind of like a trainwreck.

Not sure how it's a "terrible" film.

Plot-wise and in terms of performances, it is merely good but it IS good. On every other level it is excellent.

Technically, it is a marvel.

Were it not for the offensive portrayal of Officer Murdoch committing suicide and the idiotic notion that Lake Wissota even existed in 1912...it would have been nearly perfect.

reply

the movie has way more glaring mistakes than that, like blaming the watchers because they didn't have binoculars, please.

I like this film mostly due to its great set pieces and epic soundtrack. There's also a certain amount of atmosphere and immersion in the film, which Cameron is great at. (Abyss, Terminator, Aliens, Avatar)

You know the iceberg is coming, and it will impact, but you hope that the next time you watch it, somehow, some way, the ship will miss the iceberg.

reply

Why do you even care? Seriously.

reply

Because he likes to be "edgy" and "controversial" in a transparent and pitiable attempt to get the attention he never got from his parents.
