It gets a pass because it's directed by David Fincher but the plot is so implausible that it insults the viewers intelligence. If it was directed by someone with a less formidable pedigree, it would be criticised a lot more.

I suppose that's what David Fincher is good at.
I dunno. I thought it was alright. Not great, but a decent thriller (which sure does take some huge logical leaps to work).
