$175,000K is not that much money in the long run lol

It cracked me when they won $175k (how did that bum even have that much money anyway he didn't seem to work) they acted like they were set for life. But in reality $175k would t go very far, especially in the area they lived in.

You could buy a house or condo for that much, and if they rented , eventually the money would run out..would run out faster since Nancy's mom seemed to keep buying fancy clothes and furniture. They were acting like they were millionaires, but $175k wouldn't last long paying rent and bills monthly lol

If you spent it wisely could last you a while

I laughed at the big ass fancy apartment. They wouldn't last half a year there with that money.

He didn’t have that much money. It was a life insurance payout.

That’s the whole point. They’re such losers they act like they won the lottery. It was $175k. Even in the 90s that was like 3 months salary for most people.

Most people ? In the 90's ? Suuuuuuure.

I don't think they cared about the money long term. They would have just spent it all and then wondered why they were having to get jobs at Chucky Cheese or wherever.

They were quite literally living in a trailer with rain leaking through the roof. It was a lot for them, especially when you take inflation into fact.

According to online inflation calculators. It's the equivalent to $310k in 2021.

Also I think it was intentional to show them 'living it up' after getting some money for the first time in their lives. It wouldn't last for them, you're right.
