Never used to bother me…

Just HOW unrealistic the bus jump was. It would have immediately been on a downward trajectory. So having it jump 60 feet on an EVEN track, with zero incline…is just too much disbelief to suspend. Beyond ridiculous. All they needed to do was have the ramp they land on be at a slightly lower level.

Instead, we see a 2 ton bus jump from zero incline…and ascend UPWARD! Haaaaa!

I was 13 years old when this movie came out and I distinctly remember looking at my dad during the bus jump saying something to the effect of "there's no way they can do that. It doesn't even have a ramp." Vehicles just suddenly don't leap in the air without something to ramp off of, and definitely can't stick a landing when the ground they are landing on is the same level as the ground they ramped from. Overall, a very fun movie that still holds up, but it just makes me wonder why they got so lazy on that scene and expected everyone to just suspending their disbelief so much.

Might be the dumbest idea ever in film.

Just wanted to point out that it was actually mentioned the highway most likely did have an incline

When you watch it though, there not only is zero incline, but that big, heavy bus defies all laws of gravity.

I agree, it's complete nonsense. Still, one of my favourite action flicks.
