Did millennials kill the hangout sitcom?

Shows like Friends and Cheers are hard to recreate nowadays because younger viewers are too distracted by technology.

reply

Yeah, that's why shows like Friends and Seinfeld air 10 times a day and Friends is one of the most popular shows on Netflix and younger viewers are keeping the show relevant by discovering it for the first time.

Questions like this are always idiotic. If they're so distracted by technology why do sitcoms still exist today? Why is The Big Bang Theory still one of the highest watched shows on tv? Why is Modern Family immensely popular? Why are old shows constantly coming back?

Use your head. Even if there aren't as many hang out sitcoms why would millenials be any less distracted from newer sitcoms? Doesn't make sense, does it?

reply

Do you know any young people? Doesn't really sound like it.

reply

No. Have you seen Big Bang Theory? They hang out often.

If millennials were responsible for the death of "hangout sitcoms" then they should be celebrated, not criticized. I visit this forum on rare occasions to get insight into what people could possibly find funny about a cast of well-to-do banal meatheads with Hollywood contrived problems. Their phoniness would've been forgivable were they funny.

reply

This show was very funny, you have bad taste.
