the show fell hard

teh later seaons are hard to get through

but was a top 10 rating sucess the entire run

I read is few articles that jill was one the primary reasons why the show ended because she was sick of the pay gap and was ready 2 walk off.

reply

I remember the E True Hollywood Story and Patricia Richardson mentioned the pay gap between her and Tim Allen. She really wasn't happy with the writing and so many retread stories towards the end.

reply

Richard Karn said in an interview that the show ended because Tim Allen wanted to move on.

reply

he probably didn't want 2 say they were fighting over money.

reply

No, that's not how it came across in the interview. The point he was making is that he thought Tim Allen regretted his decision not long after, because they had offered him quite a bit of money to do another season.

reply

they offed him, and not Patrica, which was where the rift stated.

reply

No, because that's when the show ended.

Patricia must've been talking about her salary in previous seasons, not the money she was offered for doing the extra season that never happened.

reply

Yeah. Mark becoming Emo and wearing black was weird and then the last season wasn't the same after Jonathan Taylor Thomas left the show. The series finale was bad what with some executive on tool time changing the show to be like Jerry Springer's show. The first 5 seasons are the best imo.

reply

The pay gap wasn't that big. For the final season he was offered $2 million per ep, she was offered $1 million per. And they both mutually agreed to end it because they knew the show had been horrible for a couple of years. Allen states this often in the E! THS that the writing had gotten abysmal, that even with Disney's offer of $50 million for the final season, he had to no.
