Why Batman 1989's Big Joker Twist Can Never Be Beaten

Tim Burton's 1989 Batman featured a major new element to Joker's origins with a huge twist, and no future Batman movie will ever beat it.

Are you paid to constantly share tabloid trash all over this site?

reply

Why in the Sam fuck should it personally bother you? Why are you wasting my time by personally attacking me?

reply

Extremely defensive, interesting.

I wasn’t attacking you, I just asked a simple question. Here it is again:

Are you paid to constantly share tabloid trash all over this site?

reply

He is, yes. TMC-4 works for a British tabloid aggregate called sockit2um, and he gets paid a small commission each time someone clicks his links.

reply

Interesting. It’s a bit creepy that he doesn’t make that clear up front and pretends to be a legit user sharing ‘news’ (and as we’ve just seen turns aggressive when questioned as to his true motives)

Do the mods know what he’s up to?

reply

Oh I'm sure they do, he floods certain late 80's early 90's movie boards with thousands of posts about minutia that no one ever responds to. He makes 53 cents a day by getting unfamiliar users to click on his links to silly articles.

reply

Odd that the mods don’t take him to task for spamming the boards for his commission-grift. He’s exploiting the site for profit and dropping rat-turds everywhere.

reply

I dont know if it technically is considered spamming or maybe they would. They might also feel sorry for him because nobody is clicking on those links and he is wasting so much of his life writing those articles about "rat-turds" as you put it.
It's 53 cents, it would be worth more to everyone if they could just get him to stop making posts about Harvey Dent's tangled taint hair, or a sound that might have been a fart in the background during a chase sequence.

reply

I can’t see him winning Pulitzer with articles about ‘Dent’s tangled taint hair’ but everyone’s got to start somewhere I guess.

reply

I'm "turning aggressive" in your words, because you're making a pretty baseless and petty accusation (suggesting that I must get paid to post "tabloid trash") and instead of actually focusing on the subject at hand. And you were attacking me, because why else would you say something like "Are you paid to constantly share tabloid trash all over this site?" in the very first place?

reply

How much you get per click

reply

Again, very defensive response to a simple question.

How much do you get paid per click?

reply

been asking this same question for years

Can't wait for the reveal in Spider-Man 4 that Uncle Ben was secretly killed by (or paid to do so) by Harry Osborne. Shock, new Big Super Twist done.
And to be honest, I was more interested in the twist that Bucky killed Tony's parent.

reply

It was very interesting, but the problem is, the original lore behind the death of Bruce Wayne's parents and the Joker's origins was very different.

On the one hand, it makes for great drama in the movie, because it would truly motivate Batman to stop the Joker by any means necessary, particularly because of Jack Napier's role in ruining his life as a kid.

But on the other hand, it causes division in the fandom, because then you've got the hardcore fans who loved the comics before the movie came out, who would be bothered by the story inconsistency between the movie and the comics. And then you've got the fans who loved the movie and want to use that background lore as canon instead.

Thankfully, most people accept that there are many ways to tell a story, and comic books/films are no exception.

reply

That Joker origin has not been reused because it's trite.
