How did Star enter the house?

How did Star enter the house? She was never invited. *possible spolier warning* I can only assume that since the head vampire was invited in, it applies to the entire group. Any comments?

reply

Star wasn't a full vampire yet.

reply

The head vampire states that an invitation renders any counter measure powerless. I never got the impression though that a vampire couldn't enter uninvited, more that doing so would make them vulnerable to stuff like holy water etc.

reply

I definitely got the impression, as a previous poster mentioned, that she could enter because she was not a full vampire (although I suppose in "The Lost Boys" universe they could enter freely at any time but if they were invited the owner had no power over them.

reply

To assume makes an ass of you and me. A vampire CANNOT ENTER a home without an invitation! Prithee, tell me what is ambiguous about that statement? What it IS, is that it’s inconvenient for lazy assholes who think they can write about occult lore. Now, fuck off.

reply

The three vampires very clearly enter the house without invitation. Invitation only renders their weaknesses moot. It is not necessary for entrance.

reply

Yeah, thank goodness Max explicitly explains this at the end of the movie lol some people still missed it.

People tend to forgot that fictional movies can come up with whatever canon that they want.

reply

It IS necessary for entering. The movie just finds it inconvenient.

reply

It is not, as clearly evident in the movie.

reply

You're right. Even Bela Lugosi was invited when first came to Seward's home but once the invitation is made, the vampire can come and go as he pleases.

reply

Well, since Michael brought Star and Laddie in with them, it is an invite. The whole "renders you powerless" is really a plothole. Max WAS able to be defeated, as were the lost boys. Usually, in vampire lore, every vampire needs an invite, and to my knowledge David and company were NOT invited. I guess every story has a different interpretation.

reply

Max and the Lost Boys were all killed because they were not invited at the end - the good guys were not rendered powerless.

reply

Bravo! Excellent point.

reply

Max was defeated because he hadn't been invited at the end.

Michael says it explicitly, "I didn't invite you THIS time, Max"

reply

she was not full vampire.

reply

In order to have powers in his own house, Michael would have to have invited himself.

reply

She was only half vampire. Besides the invite thing only makes the vampire immune to garlic or holy water.

reply

The movie can use any lore or not it chooses to and it did that with this.

An invite was not required.

The same with garlic does not work in this film.

But lets say the film did use invite required it could be that if you invite the head vampire it allows all his bloodline to enter.
