It's better to kill DOZENS of innocent people just doing their job, than kill ONE president that probably deserves it, ALL THE WHILE seriously endangering my daughter's life.

I mean.. really? Which would you have chosen?

What's his motivation for choosing the more destructive and murderous, rampaging path that actually endangers her daughter's life and safety more than if he simply obeyed and killed the president?

PRIDE?

WHAT could be worth making that choice? This is a serious question; WHAT is his motivation for making this particular choice? Why does he do it?

The ONLY reason I can fathom is if he suspects they would kill his daughter anyway after they get what they want from him.

Why couldn't he at least do that AFTER they're safe, or at least be a big threat to do everything he does in this movie, so they won't harm the daughter after Matrix has killed the president?

The more you think about this movie, the stupider it starts to look.

The same can be said of so many movies, of course, almost any - it's like writers just write with a smoking cigarette between their lips, keyboards wildly making tapping noises and the writers never stop in their cocaine-induced hallucinations that their script is brilliant.

Wouldn't it be wonderful if writers STOPPED TO THINK before they sent their script excitedly to some moneybags who wouldn't recognize a good story if it landed from outer space and hit their face like a meteor?

WOULDN'T IT?!

The premise of this movie seems to be "Arnold has big muscles, Arnold shoots and destroys, murders and maims, rampages and avenges a lot and then he gets a stupid, token, diversity-rich sidekick that of course becomes a Mary Sue because of course she does"

"Sounds good, here's a big bag of money, call me in two weeks when the movie is ready, I'll be playing golf in my Yacht swimming pool".

What? That sentence doesn't make any sense? Now you know how I feel after watching this garbage cartoon movie.

This was not a garbage cartoon movie. This movie was more grounded in reality and it shows just how much of a loving father Matrix was, saving his daughter. The plot was not far fetched at all. The Stallone 80s action movies like Rambo and Cobra are the garbage cartoon ones with ridiculous over the top plots. Not Commando

Matrix believes they will kill his daughter even if he does kill the president, who by the way he is friends with. That's why they chose Matrix, because he can get close to him.
So from Matrixs' point of view he might as well try to save his daughter rather than give them what they want then kill his daughter (and likely him too) anyways.

The more you think about this movie, the stupider it starts to look.

The movie already looks stupid if you don't put a lot of thought into it. In the opening minutes of the film, Arnold attempts to ram a truck, into a vehicle that contains his daughter, on the side of a mountain.

This movie is great. It's not garbage because it doesn't take itself seriously. It's a fun, arnold action flick. That's what everyone came in for, and we all got what we wanted.

Yes. Because it's always good to respond to blackmail by acquiescing to the demands. In the words of Guile van Damme, you've lost your balls.

Yeah, that's kind of the point. This is the kind of movie that you just turn off your brain and go along for the ride. Try not to ask to many questions because there's not going to be very many good answers.

But to answer your question, Matrix even says that they will kill his daughter even if he carries out the job. And Bennett won't stop until either he or Matrix is dead. Also let's consider that there was probably a reason they overthrew the dictator. Wouldn't be surprising if he was killing his own people and would do so even more if he regained power.
