am i the only one?

This movie seems to get a lot of love from fans and has gotten cult status but... for some reason i can't see the greatness that is Brazil (which i have heard a lot about). I have tried to watch it twice but both times i have quit. Can someone explain to me what's so great about it?

btw my first message board :)

You must have seen the “Love Conquers All” version.

It's not a movie for simple minds, that's for sure.

I love this movie and saw it in the theater when it was first-run. The box office had a hand-written sign that said the film's sound is intentionally loud, be forewarned. Probably the closest they could come to Sense Surround, as this is a little old art house that used to be a church. Great little theater in Eugene, the Bijou.

On my first viewing I wasn't overly impressed but Brazil is a movie that has grown on me with subsequent watches... I am very glad I gave it a second chance because it's a one of a kind film, I guess a flawed masterpiece, and visually it's a stunner.

I may have posted this elsewhere recently, but I was thrilled when I saw Brazil in the theater when it was new. Recently I caught it on television and it really did not catch fire the way it had originally.
I still think it's a fabulous film but it may be a bit dated and creaky. I hate saying this because for years it has been one of my favorite experiences at the movies.

Williams work is jarring. I feel this one was almost as smooth as Time Bandits, but it's transitions are still a little harsh. It's still much better than Brothers Grimm.

Ask your mom why she dropped you so often!

Surrealism isn't for everyone. You do something unrealistic and some people want an explanation.
