Do you consider this a Christmas movie?

I do. It has so much Christmas imagery and the holiday does play an integrant part to the story. However, my girlfriend says that she doesn't and just sees it as a movie that takes place during Christmas. What do you think?

reply

Sure, why not.

reply

Yeah. It's definitely a Christmas movie.

reply

yes.

gremlins was suppose to be release at christmas time but the studio that pay for gremlins (i think warner bros) wanted to release in summer to compete with ghostbuster and indian jones (both film were made by rival film companies to warner bros). it was intend as christmas theme monster film.

gremlins is actual christmas film unlikes die hard. it has snow, it has classic christmas track (baby please comes homes) and it have decoration and trees in most scene! it have warm christmas tone!

reply

Yes I do! There is a lot of Christmas imagery and it puts me in the mood - I’m watching it right now ☺️

reply

It is 1,000% a Christmas movie. What sets it apart, just as in Die Hard, is that it can be viewed at any time of year without judgment of it not supposed to be seen except for around Christmas time.
