A movie for incels?

Reasons it appeals to men;
1. No yucky women in it.
2. All the guys in it are dudes (kinda dumb assholes).
3. A lot of action and gore. Guns, dynamite, flamethrowers etc, etc
4. Helicopter fetishism. Dudes be loving trucks, cars, bikes and choppers.
5. Dogs. Some dudes love dogs.

I love this movie and the sequel isn't bad despite the dodgy CGI.

People are going to bitch about movies. My advice to these folks is don't watch the damn movie if it offends you. Simple solution.

To be fair the reason it is a plus to not have women in it is that the Friday the 13th and Halloween movies were coming out at that time and they starred men and women. A woman was often the survivor in one of those movies and this movie having everyone as the same sex makes it unique and different from other horror movies of that era. Also about the prequel, it's big problem is that it should have been about a bunch of Nowegians and instead the main protagonist is an American. It also had bad effects and the Thing itself had the ability to shoot a chain with a hook out of its body. Which contradicts the original.
