Siskel and Ebert liked it

Just thought i'd throw that in!

It’s my second favorite

reply

Out of the entire series or just of the Moore Bonds?

reply

Entire series (second to Goldfinger)

reply

Wow interesting! Think I need to watch this again. I never really cared for the Moore films, only as a kid did I like them. I watched The Spy Who Loved Me recently and was surprised how little I cared for it.

He was a great Bond actor, some of his films though bordered on absurdity although some were more down to Earth and gritty like the Connery films, FYEO being one of them. I think the final action sequence at St. Cirels is my favorite climax of the whole series.

reply

Is that the house on a cliff? I thought he was okay at the time, but re-watching as an adult, his fight scenes look rather laughable. In his later years, he looked like a grandad fighting, not convincing at all as someone with a license to kill.

reply

I thought the climatic fight scene was well done.

I think what was more ridiculous, in terms of his age, was Bibi the teenage skater lusting after him.

reply

Lol yeah, that was absurd.

reply

So did I. The first Bond I remember seeing and one of the better ones.

reply

It's one of the greats(007).

reply

They did? Wow...now I can sleep easier, without the guilt of liking a movie not endorsed by Siskel and Ebert keeping me awake.
