Sorry, but Apollo should have won.

Apollo dominated Rocky in the beginning. Rocky couldn't hit a fly. Got knocked down twice even. Then all of sudden, Apollo can't dodge and is stunned by a single jab such that he's thrown back into the ropes. Why have him make a fool of Rocky only to look like a fool later?

Rcoky had the heart and the stamina, boxing isn't just about who could hit harder or punch more, no one ever went the distance with Creed it wasn't till Rocky did, Creed couldn't handle the 15th round both times, he had stamina problems, and had never had to go the distance before.

it's like a 100 metre runner who is faster then a 200 metre runner only he can't win over 200 metres it happens.

Actually, in real life, rocky would've won the minute he knocked out Apollo with the last punch. They didn't have to count out rocky, cause rocky slipped from exhaustion. It was only Apollo that needed to get up before the count, even though he was well ahead on points.

Creed fought a dumb fight in the final rounds, as he was killin' Rocky prior.

rocky hit a lot harder than apollo. apollo was seen though more as the older experienced actual "boxer" who was a lot more polished and had better skill than rocky hence he teaching him what he knew later on.

though look at IV, even before the drago and balboa fight, they refer at the press conference about rocky's known punching power.

Rocky won thanks to two things:

1.His endurance: He was like a iron tank or something he could take a hit and never give up he kept coming back and wanted more. It broke Apollo in the first fight (the Oh come on face when Rocky gets back up sells it,) and he was never the same after that. He also used it in both the Drago and Dixon fights years late especially the former. In this case he took Apollo's best but refused to go down and it helped wear Creed out.

and

2. Apollo's arrogance. He was so determined on knocking Rocky out and humiliating him he forgot to train better to prevent exhaustion as that's what got him in the first one and it came back with a vengeance in this one. However it got worse as his ego went wild and he wouldn't stop insisting on that knockout; it killed him in the end both this fight and in the 4th one lol.

Apollo shoulda listened to Duke in both movies he knew what was going on. Apollo was always like his son and Duke the dad, he was warning him like any dad would and Apollo like any could ignored him. He had it coming both times but it happened proper in the 2nd one.

Yep. Apollo should have won both fights if he played to his strengths and not fought to Rocky's.

The movie made clear that Apollo cost himself the match. His trainer was telling him to stay away from Rocky and avoid going for the knockout. Apollo would have won by rounds. But he foolishly sought the knockout, giving Rocky the opening

LOL in real life the fight would have been stopped after round 1

the idea is Rocky has incredible stamina if you notice in rocky 1 as well. when he gets knocked down as soon as he gets back up every time he become superman and ends the round on top. Apollo had been hit to the body when Rocky had got shots on him that slowed him down made him tired. Apollo would not accept nothing but a knockout and that is what lost him the fight. as said 'stick and move' is all he had to do
