christian PROPAGANDA

Aimed at little kiddies. Get 'em while they're young.

Teach them all why it's wrong to be a heathen. Great family entertainment.

I'm surprised no one here has noted that the director, Don Bluth, is not a Christian. He is a Mormon, or if you prefer a member of the Church of Later Day Saints, who I believe have had one or two disagreements with Christians over the years...

reply

There should be some sort of code you type into these boards that automatically launches "If you don't like the movie, don't watch it."

If you don't want to be a Christian, don't.

If you can't endure other people being Christians (or Jews/Moslems/Hindus/Pagans/Druids/Atheists....) then learn to suffer, because the world doesn't revolve around you and the rest of us aren't changing to humor some bigot.

reply

Wow...
This short is only vaguely about a Christian story and not at all about Christian teachings.
Joseph shows up in the end to buy the donkey, but that's it.
And we also only see Mary in silhouette and never hear her speak.
There's no subtext, that tells you that you must be a Christian or burn in Hell or anything.
And still, some people can't stand even the smallest reference to a Bible story.
It is incredible how narrow-minded some people can be in the name of "enlightenment".
And I wouldn't be surprised if the OP never even watched the short, but hated on it anyway.

I loved watching this as a kid. We'd watch it as part of a tape mom had made years ago that had a whole string of Christmas programs she'd recorded from HBO and Disney Channel. My brother loved it too.

reply

For me, I grew up with the story as an audiocasette/story book combo.

reply

My brother and I did that with many Disney stories! :D I loved having the cassette player nearby, chiming to tell us to turn the page, and we could follow the narrator as we went along. It's a great way to help kids learn to read ;)

reply

Ah, that is what I did as well. Good times!

I just gotta say, the TC is an arrogant jerk. He doesn't believe in the U.S constitution because he thinks nobody should be allowed to be a Christian. Which imo makes him a fascist. Then again he also was probably a troll.

reply

I could swear that it was okay to be a Christian in America. Or did they finally turn it into a crappy atheist state like France and not tell anybody?

reply

Of course. I was just talking about the TC. Then again he may not have actually believed that crap and may have just been trying to get a rise out of everyone.

reply

Freedom of religion is part of the First Amendment. The U.S. has no state-established religion and citizens are free to practice whatever beliefs they subscribe to.

We must hope that he has matured away from his hatred by now.

reply

What a pathetic Marxist! You just proved you are the religious fanatic here.
Also misrepresented Satanism. Doesn't permit rape and murder.
