Did this movie inspire the Queen musical version from later?

I know this is a spoof soft porn movie but do you think due to its chronological proximity to the more recent and famous version of the original story that this helped bring it into existence?

I remember seeing this movie years ago. Them fighting with the penisauruses and the battling she-males.

I always knew of this film but had no appreciation that it came before the later "Flash" Gordon film.

It seems obvious that the later film is something of a rip off - They saw the title of this one and thought it would be amusing to make a film called Flash Gordon rather than Flesh Gordon...
