I was in my 20s. I confess I haven't watched it since because the ending ruined the whole movie for me. The ending in my opinion made the whole movie pointless.

I think I was 18 but before that I was aware of the film. There was an English skit show called The Goodies which lampooned the film and that show was shown at about 5pm down here so I would watch it as a kid.

Hard to say. Not when it was new (I would have been about 12) but it was in a theater. Might have been in college as I don't recall my home city having revival type movie halls. But it was fantastic in it's bizarre way, at least to my young mind back then. Nowadays it might put me off; I'm a lot more sensitive than I was back then.
