Should be shown in schools

With all the focus on self improvment, academic achievement, and the new social research indicating a 'lack of empathy' among the new generation. This is a good movie to watch.

Jeez. You people argue over the silliest shit. Some of you are so frightened of "PC Police" and fearful "It's a Wonderful Life" would be controversial if shown in.schools because it depicts angels. I don't know why that would be a problem, but some of you are terrified of a backlash. So how about this solution---don't show It's a Wonderful Life in the fucking schools. It airs on cable endlessly during the holidays and is widely available on.streaming. Savvy kids will find it, just as they do with other film.classics, in the privacy of their own homes. Leave school to readin' writin', 'rithmetic. A lot of teens not accustomed to older cinematic conventions would find it slow and would probably be looking at their phones anyway. So leave It's a Wonderful Life at home and let teachers do what they're paid to do. Controversy solved.

I showed this in all my high school classes for 30 years. As the years passed a diminishing number of students had ever seen it before...a sad commentary on the deterioration of our society.

I know what you mean. Back in 2006, when I was in my last week of highschool, my teacher was having us read Old Yeller and the majority of students in my class had never heard of it. I was surprised.
