I'd rather hear what her teammates think of her problems at the Olympics. It is unlikely the trolls on this forum have anything relevant to say.

I remember athletes in the past fighting on with broken bones, concussions, etc., which made people root for them as heroes. I guess I need to try to understand the current generation's frailty and how it makes them heroic.

So it was more important to the team that Bile continue to perform poorly instead of taking a break and letting someone else do it better than she was capable of at the time?

Who are these gymnasts who were performing with broken bones and concussions?

Well, tens of millions were blown on the U.S. Olympics, so when someone goes to perform, they should either perform or refund some of their endorsement dollars to the U.S. Olympic Committee in compensation.

Really? The US Olympic Committee does not provide endorsement dollars to the athletes. Private companies do that. Those companies can and have taken away endorsement deals from athletes that fell out of favor. An example is Billie Jean King.

The fact is that Biles has not been vilified by her peers for stepping back from competition briefly when she was unable to perform as her best. The only ones doing that are the overt haters who don't have the slightest clue at the demands placed upon athletes at the top level of competition.

I don't understand why people would bitch about allowing another competitor to take the place of a lessor performing (Biles) gymnast.

Biles has made millions off her being in the Olympics. And, she was only there because of the people who contributed millions for her to go. She could have given some back to the Olympic Committee since she didn't perform. Simple. Even for you.
