Looks like Disney may be serious about presenting different body types for its leading ladies after all! We may actually see her get pretty muscular over the next two films. She's been doing strength training:

Disney probably told her to gain weight between films.
She was very lean in the first film because her character didn't have enough to eat, but at the end of the movie she was staying with the rebels. Where she probably considers the horrible military MREs and canteen food to be better than the nectar and ambrosia of the ancient Gods, and she'd be eating double portions of everything and begging for more. Her nickname might be "Are you finishing that?".
