She's not Asian??

Why is that in her name then? It seems deceitful and disrespectful. Kind of like when Mrs. Constanza thinks Donna Changstein is an Asian woman and then is angered when she finds out she's not.

reply

Yeah, and I thought Tommy Lee Jones was also an Asian.

There's a big difference between "Lu" and and a common Western surname like "Lee" smartass. It's not even one of her parent's surnames, they just picked it for her.

Those monsters! How dare they just pick a name that they liked for their daughter! 🙄

reply

Because it falsely implies she's Asian when she's not? And they get into show business and then use that name?

reply

"Ed Jew" is a Chinaman from San Francisco and nobody complains

reply

That's his last name, he has no control over this. I'm not convinced her parents didn't name her that in order to get undeserved minority points in Hollywood!

reply

what's a "minority point"? That didn't seem to help Daniel Dae Kim or Grace Park stay on board on Hawaii 5-0 did it?

Hollywood tv shows and movies are products that are premarketed and sold to a specific demographic. I highly doubt that Haley's middle name played a role in her getting cast in anything she's been in.

Pronunciation of Lu [lu] as a girls' name has its roots in Old German and Latin, and the meaning of Lu is "famous warrior; light; famous warrior; other, foreign". Lu is an alternate form of Lou: contraction of Louann. Lu is also a variant of Louise (Old German). Lu is also used as a form of Lucy (Latin), and a variant of Luella (Old English, Old German).

When are you going to delete your account? It seems deceitful and disrespectful to pretend you're a superhero!
