Winners of the League Cup!
Genuinely impressive win imo. Especially with that squad.
Chelsea bottled that tbh.
My Grandma is a happy lady today. Not even a joke or a dig. She's a legit Liverpool fan.

Kloppo komm heim! π΅β πΆβ
I never understood the difference between this and the FA Cup.
shareTo be honest...somewhat I lost the understanding for all those Cups.
In the 'good ole days' we had a national Champ and in good luck winning the WC.
Of course some qualifications before.
Now it's worse than the different belts in boxing.
The League Cup is basically the "lesser" trophy out of the 3 major ones up for grabs in the UK.
The FA is the oldest cup competition in the world. And deserves the hype imo.
The League Cup should honestly be left to the "smaller" teams in my opinion.
The prize money is "only" like 100 grand. And the winner gets to qualify for the Europa Conference League.
I'm aware of all that, but there's no big difference between FA and EFL cups. But I agree that the League Cup should be left to smaller teams. That's what the difference should be.
shareThere isn't THAT much difference between them tbh. Except "prestige" maybe.
Also, I love the creation of the Europa Conference League. Cause it gives teams that can't qualify or win any European trophies a chance..
The EFL cup should be that for small & mid table teams.
They should do a relegation tournament for the bottom 3 teams so they can get a trophy and not feel so bad for dropping down.
shareI'm aware of all that, but there's no big difference between FA and EFL cups.
Oh, I thought that any team could play EFL, but they just weren't getting far enough to qualify.
shareWhat is ''the point'' of the league Cup then? Would make more sense if it was open to just the smaller teams, to set it apart & stuff.
But it's basically just the Fa Cup but ''less fancy'', huh?
The statement of people who don't have a clue are always the best.
Please discuss with capuchin (aka Lilith) nordic history or soccer.
Hilarious!
The original point of the League Cup was kind of a power grab and -- of course -- an extra money-spinner for league clubs. But that didn't really work out because people love the FA Cup much more.
And, of course, at that time the top tier of English football -- Division One -- was part of the Football League. Had Division One already broken away from the Football League and rebranded itself as The Premier League, then -- I suppose -- they wouldn't be in it.
And I'm sure they could, as a Premier League, choose not to be in it if they wanted to. Which makes all their kvetching about it ring a bit hollow.
The point of it now? Questionable for the bigger clubs. I think for Premier League clubs, it supplies opportunities for fringe players to get significant game time during the season. And, as Jose Mourinho used to like to point out, winning a trophy in February can provide a boost for the rest of the season. Mourinho bloody loved the League Cup.
There's also an FA Trophy, which is not open to professional teams. So you have, basically, the League Cup for professional teams, the FA Trophy for non-professionals and The FA Cup for everybody.
It's because in the olden days non league clubs like Fulchester United used to do really well in the FA Cup, much to the annoyance of largely moustached league club owners.
So they created an additional trophy to ensure some additional revenue and keep the upstarts out.
gay little team. hate it. arsenal!!!
shareDad?
Haha, but seriously, my dad is a Gooner.
You think y'all can win ANY trophy this season tho?
i'm not even british. i just remember watching arsenal in the ealry 2000's and since then i sticked with them. but i'm not a fan or anything. there are teams i like and teams i dont. ironically for you i kinda like everton because i feel that middle table teams need to win trophies for the sake of competition.
shareI'm Canadian. Real Madrid fan. But I love watching the premier league. It's mostly entertaining & they just have the best commentators in the biz in my opinion.
Most of my family, except one of my bros & I, support EPL teams.
I was a gunners supporter in middle school though. Mostly cause of Thiery Henry. I'm a Henry Stan!
P.S. I'm with ya. I love it when smaller teams win stuff. Was happy to see West Ham win the Europa conference league.
And loving Aston Villa's rise through the ranks.
Apart of it that we can insult each other...my batteries for the keyboard are low.
Gute Nacht!
