Gina Carano “Grotesquely Trivialized The Holocaust,” Disney Says; Wants Suit On ‘Mandalorian’ Firing Tossed

In a filing Tuesday night to dismiss Gina Carano‘s wrongful-discharge and sex-discrimination lawsuit over being fired from The Mandalorian, the Mouse House states that the former MMA fighter lost her Star Wars series job in 2021 because her decision “to publicly trivialize the Holocaust by comparing criticism of political conservatives to the annihilation of millions of Jewish people—notably, not ‘thousands’—was the final straw for Disney.”

Seeking a June 12 hearing in federal court in downtown Los Angelese before Judge Sherilyn Peace Garnett, the Daniel Petrocelli-represented Disney insists the Elon Musk-backed action should be tossed out “on the grounds that Disney has a constitutional right not to associate its artistic expression with Carano’s speech, such that the First Amendment provides a complete defense to Carano’s claims.”

Claiming her “words were consistently twisted to demonize & dehumanize me as an alt right wing extremist” during the very public dispute three years ago, Carano took the Bob Iger-run company to court in early February to get back her high-profile Mandalorian role of Rebel ranger Cara Dune and a TIE fighter full of damages.

This thread would be 100x better if there was a recap of what she actually said

Meanwhile Pedro Pascal compared conservatives to Nazis and Confederates and Disney didn't bat an eye.

"It's okay when we do it!"

So what? And how do you know they didn't bat an eye? Disney didn't say anything about Carano until after her contract wasn't renewed for s3 of Mando and Carano went public with it and they had to explain that she wasn't fired since she wasn't an employee of Disney since her contract for S2 ran out.

He compared Trump's defeat to the confederacy's and the reich's defeats. Those defeats actually took place. So they are literally comparable.

People posting ultra conservative viewpoints and being subjected to criticism and ridicule for them bears no comparison with the systematic oppression, terror and murder that was orchestrated upon people for no reason other than the race they were born into.

Nobody is born a drooling nincompoop who posts crap on the internet and then bitches about the backlash by claiming to be as much of a victim as a Jew in Europe in the 1930s and 40s.
They choose to be that. And they choose to call themselves victims. But they are not.

People have been calling others nazis for decades. Parking nazis, grammar nazis, soup nazis, dress code nazis, surf nazis and so on. But until recently, nobody had the poor taste or lack of any sense of proportion that they described themselves as victims like the Jews of Europe in the 30s and 40s though. It just shows how desperately anxious some cunts are about being on the wrong side of history.
