She should get called out.

She just released an album today. Two hours later, she released a deluxe version of that album and didn't make it known until after the original album was released. Shes relying on her cult to buy the original album, then splash the cash to buy the deluxe edition afterwards.

I SUPPORT THE CALL OUT...HOWEVER...THIS IS NOTHING NEW...AS A PHYSICAL MEDIA COLLECTOR...I HAVE DEALT WITH THE BASIC EDITION FIRST THEN HERE COMES THE DELUXE EDITION COUNTLESS TIMES OVER THE YEARS WITH DVD,BLU-RAYS,CDS,ETC.

reply

But two hours later? Imagine being a teen buying her album and then two hours later, you have one that's already out of date.

reply

YES...THAT IS IRRITATING...I AGREE.

reply

Great! TWO albums I have no interest in!

reply

Apparently it's not even two albums. She considers it a double album but the original release is considered like a chapter one.

reply

I just checked, and apparently the deluxe edition has 15 extra songs. The original only has 17 total. If it were me, I would feel like I only got half of an album.

reply

The sad thing is that her fans are like, "OMG, 15 more songs. Yaaaaaasss. Slay queen."

reply

Anyone that celebrates getting nickel and and dimed by a billionaire has a pretty low IQ.

If I happened to me, I think would probably bootleg the rest of it to avoid supporting shady business practices.

reply

How many people are actually going to buy the album within hours of it coming out though? Seems like a non issue.

reply

beats me. i don't know how young people buy music anymore. so long as they were both sitting side by side on the rack in a CD shop, it's definitely not a problem. i get the feeling that don't happen much these days.

You're talking about Swifties here who probably had notifications within seconds of the release. They were probably up all night like a 5 year old on Christmas Eve waiting for the moment.

reply

But did they actually buy the cd or just stream it?

reply

Unknown. Frankly, I don't have a clue how to buy music anymore. The last thing I bought was a CD of Wicked for my wife after we saw the play on Broadway about 10 years ago.

If they bought and downloaded it, I imagine they could upgrade for the rest of the songs for the balance of the cost (assuming the second release cost more than the first).

reply

Pre-orders. The 15 songs on that original release were on the top 25 downloads within hours.

reply

Didn't albums used to come out on Tuesdays?

reply

Yeah, she probably wants to beat the other artists to the punch so there's no decisions to be made on what album to buy.

reply

That is unusual.. 32 Tracks this woman has made??

reply

31. Almost half of them are from the deluxe edition that she is claiming is part of a double album. She wants it both ways.

reply

How many of the tracks are about her current significant other in Travis Kelce??

reply

Probably none. They have to break up first.
