Upcoming tour sponsored by AARP!

Is this for real?

I've seen ads for upcoming concerts that prominently display "Sponsored by AARP".

You can't make this stuff up!

reply

Makes sense considering boomers and gen x are their audience for the most part.

2 points:

(1) AARP starts hustling you to join at age 50, well before the geriatric period. And guys as rich as Keith Richards can buy all the replacement blood and body parts he wants to remain effectively in his late 30s.

(2) AARP is nothing more than an insurance company disguised as a benevolent organization. I joined briefly. AARP is tantamount to an outright fraud.

reply

Interesting. How are they like fraud?

reply

They started flooding my mailbox before I turned 50.

I too joined for a short time. It wasn't worth it.

reply

I wasn't surprised at all. Aren't they all 80 or older now?

As expected, the Rolling Stones have announced they are going back on the road in 2024 behind their recently released “Hackney Diamonds” album. The group, led by core members Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Ron Wood, will perform in 16 cities across the U.S. and Canada, playing a combination of classics, deep cuts and songs from the new album, according to the announcement. The tour, which launches on April 28 and wraps on July 17, is promoted by AEG Presents’ Concerts West.
