He's not the only one--I've seen others on other websites saying the same thing: "It's a hoax. They're not rigged to blow"...as if that's supposed to somehow diminish the fact that this man committed a terrorist act.

That's like saying: "It's not armed robbery because the robber had a toy gun!" That's still armed robbery.
