Selling out Britain and her people

Queen Elizabeth II betrayed her own people. She ignored the pleas of her own subjects in Rhodesia who swore fealty to her. She let them get sacrificed to appease Afro-Marxists. And closer to home she allowed her own people to become a minority in their own capital city....with London going from 95% British the year of her coronation to 40% British today.

If she was not complicit which would make her evil in all this...then she was impotent....which would make her useless for 70 years on the throne. Either a way a wasted throne. Her based uncle should have been King...too bad his weakness was American skirt. Her sister Princess Margaret also of a better ideological persuasion would have made a better Queen.

Overall her reign saw a lot of “managed decline” for her Kingdom...which lately became much less “managed.” With very few if any highs.

The Royals --in the 21st century are about show biz. So much of UK is tourism. They don't have natural resources and industry. They do have a history, finance center and diplomacy. All of which is aided by the tradition of the monarchy. That's it.

It's like a long-running play that's comfortable to those who like it and an annoyance to those who do not. Elizabeth was liked and admired. I seriously doubt whether any of the other royals are. Even if some are sincere. My guess would be the royals will be greatly diminished in 25 years or less. Done.

I think those were the achievements of democratically elected leaders.

You do know the monarchy's rule of UK is symbolic, right?

Also one look of Liz Truss she died, so we know she was not that happy about those leaders.

reply

You've got it backwards. Liz Truss just had tea with the Queen. What did she put in the Queen's tea?

reply

Liz Truss the queen slayer

reply

She had no power to do anything about the issues you cited. The monarchy is just a showcase office that doesn’t have any real governing power

reply

Agreed. Even thought she didn't have any executive powers, she could have at least spoken about it.

reply

No disagree, one of the main reasons she was so respected was her neutrality to politics through the years. She made the decision long ago to leave the running of the country in the hands of the elected government.

reply

When it comes to usual political issues (taxes, foreign policy..etc) I agree. However if there was anything warranting an exception, it would be the destruction of her own country and her people which is rapidly taking place because nobody dares to voice an opposition.

reply

I can certainly see your point, I'm just not sure how she could have handled it after already keeping out of politics all that time.
