would've been a great James Bond...

If the character was suddenly changed to being Asian, of course. I'm not a fan of diversity for diversity's sake, and I'm certainly not seriously suggesting EON to consider picking this guy as their new Bond after Craig.

However, IF James Bond had to be turned into a Chinese guy for whatever reason (to allow the CCP to show the film in their country, most likely), Tony Leung would've definitely been the guy to get. All those quiet, contemplative looks he gave in films like In the Mood for Love, Lust, Caution, and Infernal Affairs felt very James Bond to me (as in, the Bond of the novels) and he could certainly pull off being an action star. Dude is suave and sexy as fuck too (no homo).

Who's with me?

reply

Too small stature.

reply

Eh, Roger and Pierce weren't exactly Brock Lesner either.

reply

Brock would be too muscular.

reply

I know, just using hyperbole there.

reply

He is the coolest asian actor of the past 20 years.
Way cooler than the clown playing Bond in the meanwhile.

reply

Has Tony Leung ever played a bond-like character? He's definitely Bond material. It'd be cool if they did a Chinese spy fantasy starring him.

reply

Hard Boiled? He is good with guns and a spy.

reply

Oh yeah! It's been a good decade or so since I've seen it. Should go back and watch some of these old John Woo films.
