Incredibly overrated

Anyone agree?

reply

I like some of her music but I do agree. I don't care for her as performer. In fact I find her rather boring.

I have to vent about her for a minute. And I will post her positives and negatives. Her music post 2011 is just horrendous. It doesn't even make it to radio air play it's so dreadful. Only her loyal ''fans'' buy it on Itunes and spotify. Her quality and content of her music has gone downhill to the point where I wonder if it is in part a big ''F-YOU!! My husbands rich and powerful. I can release whatever I want!!'' to the music industry. I just get that feeling.

Also her attempts to join black lives matter a few years ago and seem more ''down'' seem very disingenuous. See has spent her entire life coddled and pampered, first she was daddy's girl and then she married one of the most powerful rappers and producers in the music industry. She has never known suffering or poverty. It was actually because of ''push'' from some critics in the black community that made her pretend to care about BLM. They wondered why she stayed silent on the Trayvon Martin case and other such things initially. Likely she stayed silent because she didn't care or didn't have the oratory capability to say anything intelligent about the whole case (we know she's an absolutely terrible public speaker). So she caved and disingenuously hopped on the wagon (which she will hop back off in a few years).

Onto her positives, she is a strikingly beautiful woman and she can sing beautifully and perform great. It's a damn shame about everything else. And her husband may be powerful and I am sure half of their relationship has always been financial but he has cheated on her for years and she never seems to have flinched over it. The Lemonade short film was B.S!! If she really cared about her self worth she would have left years ago. Does she really even love this man? is this a sham marriage? who knows?

I’d have to disagree. Beyoncé, primarily, is a singer and a great one at that. Those who don’t know the particulars of singing as a craft may not know the extensive knowledge Beyoncé acquired as a vocalist. She put time into her craft and has been and can again be proven as one of the best technical, precise, and powerful singers in the music industry. Do some research and find all she can do with her voice and recognition from all the greats she studied in the past to get where she is, like Prince and Michael Jackson. Also, her performing skills are top notch. Few singers can sing and dance at the same time and still sound as good as she does. Not to mention, doing so for 2 hours a night on a strenuous tour. I don’t think she’s overrated but excelled at a time where celebrities are so accessible like never before and so many people want to get personal. If the social media aspect of celebrity was axed and it was more like the old days when singers were based on merit, skill, voice, and performance then Beyoncé would likely be even bigger. She doesn’t need a gimic to showcase her talent.

Now some cons to being a celebrity at her status is that you do have obsessed and delusional fans but that shouldn’t take away from her achievements. Also, Beyoncé set the bar very high as a performer and nowadays she seems more laid back and less energetic on stage. I think she is just trying something new. This may appear boring in comparison to what she offered before but she still out sings and out dances the majority of performers in the game on her worst day. All I’m saying is give credit where it’s due. Britney Spears is a much worse singer and performer but no one ever really says she’s overrated. Hence, somewhat of a double standard. I love both ladies btw but Beyoncé is undoubtedly the show I’d rather see.

Peace

Yes.

That's not to say she isn't good; I think she is.

But the CRAZY hype that she has from her nutso fans puts her into overrated territory. They think she can do no wrong, almost beatifying her into some spiritual realm. She's a good singer. She's a good dancer. She isn't the Messiah. She doesn't have access to special wisdom or superpowers.

So, yeah; she's well overrated.
