Trifflin is a urban term. From what I understand stand it means mischievous, sneaky, and disingenuous. For example, in song it may refer appearing to be faithful in the relationship while having multiple other females on speed dial to meet up for sex. I’d have to disagree. Beyoncé, primarily, is a singer and a great one at that. Those who don’t know the particulars of singing as a craft may not know the extensive knowledge Beyoncé acquired as a vocalist. She put time into her craft and has been and can again be proven as one of the best technical, precise, and powerful singers in the music industry. Do some research and find all she can do with her voice and recognition from all the greats she studied in the past to get where she is, like Prince and Michael Jackson. Also, her performing skills are top notch. Few singers can sing and dance at the same time and still sound as good as she does. Not to mention, doing so for 2 hours a night on a strenuous tour. I don’t think she’s overrated but excelled at a time where celebrities are so accessible like never before and so many people want to get personal. If the social media aspect of celebrity was axed and it was more like the old days when singers were based on merit, skill, voice, and performance then Beyoncé would likely be even bigger. She doesn’t need a gimic to showcase her talent. Now some cons to being a celebrity at her status is that you do have obsessed and delusional fans but that shouldn’t take away from her achievements. Also, Beyoncé set the bar very high as a performer and nowadays she seems more laid back and less energetic on stage. I think she is just trying something new. This may appear boring in comparison to what she offered before but she still out sings and out dances the majority of performers in the game on her worst day. All I’m saying is give credit where it’s due. Britney Spears is a much worse singer and performer but no one ever really says she’s overrated. Hence, somewhat of a double standard. I love both ladies btw but Beyoncé is undoubtedly the show I’d rather see. Peace View all replies >
