Yes, but after Stalin died he was one of the only leaders available that had common sense.

He also admitted to the world Stalin's barbaric reign.

A good movie to see regarding Khrushchev is The Death of Stalin (2017) staring Steve Buscemi (who plays Khrushchev) semi dark comedy/ semi history lesson, pretty good flick.
