R.I.P.
Poor Rolf
shareInappropriate.
As it happens, I posted 'RIP' following Jimmy Savile's death in 2011 on the old IMDb board, but that was before I found out the truth about that bastard.
To quote Dave Mustaine from Megadeth: Rust in peace.
shareOf all the public figures outed as nonces after the Saville scandal Rolf hit me the hardest. As a kid I admired him and used to rush home from school to catch his show. I felt betrayed when the truth about him came to light.
Now that he's dead all I can say is good riddance.
I felt the same way. I thought Harris was jovial, harmless, and he was one heck of an artist. I even liked his vet programmes later on. But when the story broke, I just felt disappointed above all. I mean Savile was worse and was generally creepy to boot, I never really liked him, but Harris, I couldn't believe that of him.
How about ROT IN HELL, KIDDIE-FIDDLER!?!
Rolf Harris was a big part of my childhood. He was one of THE best known figures in popular entertainment, as well as an extremely talented painter. I never missed his TV show. My late dad was a professional musician and worked with him several times (this was in the late 1960s/early 1970s). Heck, I've probably still got his autograph in a box somewhere. I can't bring myself to say RIP but at the same time it is weird to think he's no longer around.
shareHe hasn't been around since 2013/2014. He was effectively dead to most of us by then. Worse than dead, even.
But I respect that your situation is unique, in view of your personal connection to the man, and I appreciate that it must be harder for you.
