Whatever happened to this guy?
Whatever happened to this guy? And why didn't he appear in Matrix 2?

shareWanted a million for the two sequels. Was offered $250,000. Went mental at the Wachowskis and basically ruined his career over it. He's still banging on about it to this day though. He has a "documentary" on Youtube and has written a book (The Kill Off) about it.
Thought he was more important to the franchise than he actually was.
$250K sounds very low for the standard rate actors are paid. Look around at some of these complaints and lawsuits, how much white men are paid compared to what minorities and women are paid. I don't blame him. Once you find something like that out it affects your every day at work.
shareWhat? 250K "very low" for a supporting actor? in early 2000s?
Chris Hemsworth in first Thor got 150K.
Robert Downey in first Iron man got 500K.
They are main actors, Hemsworth has to train a lot to build muscle, he trains everyday.
What is the requirement to play Tank? Sitting on a chair play keyboard?
I don't know your numbers are right. I don't think so.
RDJr was a criminal drug-addict and was unemployable for a long time so he was probably a bargain for the first time he came back. After that he proved himself. I can't stand the guy so I avoid anything he is in.
The problem is that the more I find out about almost any Hollywood actor the less I want to watch movies.
It's a well know fact, it's not a big trouble to google it:

I don't believe stuff like that. Where do they get that info? It's like any other industry's salaries ... they are usually not public.
shareI just watched his youtube video where he blathers on for 7 minutes about it. It boils down to:
Joey Pants (Cypher) got $1 million for The Matrix
Marcus told his agent he wanted at least $1 million to do the sequels
His agent later said, "I tried to convince them, they said no way"
Marcus met with Larry Wachowski and said, "You have to give me $1 million to do the sequels"
Larry said, "We're not giving you $1 million"
Marcus said, "Then I'm not doing the sequels"
[the best part:] Larry replies, with a straight face: "If you don't do the sequels, we'll kill you"
...Then everyone stood up and clapped.
He didn't come right out and say it, but I could swear he honestly seems to believe he's part of the reason The Matrix was so successful. Granted, I liked him in it, sure. And I think it sucks that he wasn't in the sequels. But damn, bro. lol
