being in great shape for most of your life........

doesn't guarantee longevity.

yeah. he still had his stuff together. looked great, still moved around good, sounded good. pretty shocked he dropped. he didn't have frail old man thing going on at all. RIP

weightlifting is hard on your cardiovascular system and causes high blood pressure

76 is a pretty good run, but performance enhancing drugs take a toll on your body.

we need to investigate and understand this more. not just in this case, but in every case.. 76 isn't old today, we're talking about an former athlete, actor... someone who wasn't going working down mines in the 1920s. surely he had a good diet...

76 and dying in your sleep would make me ask questions. my father is 81 in may, he plays golf twice a week, looks great...yet spent most of his youth working hard jobs. still drinks, smokes cigars...

i'd ask more questions. it's not all about genes.

You do not know he was in great shape.

A big difference between fitness and health.

He had the look of a big muscle guy so people think that person is in great shape NO.

What was his diet? you claim he had a good one.

If he has followed the pattern many other celebs do they are all over the place when it comes to nutrition and gaining/cutting which is not healthy.

He was from an era as well with a lot of drinking etc.

I am surprised no one has mentioned the vax it tends to pop up when people die suddenly now

Florence Joyner died way younger too and she was a world-class Olympic Champion sprinter.

"Doesn't guarantee longevity."
Certainly not when you further lower your chances by becoming a test subject for harmful drugs because your government told you so.

I was surprised and entertained by his appearance the other day in this old tv series I've been binge watching: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-bPSqKxVzf8

carl got his ass kicked. lol

Seeing him in that episode was a very unexpected, serendipitous experience as it came basically on the heels about the news of his death. Also, I had the impression he seemed softer, kind of pudgy as compared to the muscular, chiseled Carl we became familiar with in Predator and the Rocky movies.
