Two Consecutive Flops (West Side Story & Fabelmans)

He's already had some trouble getting funding for his films, despite his rep, even before these two. He needs a big comeback film.

Another sci-fi extravaganza with Tom Cruise should do the trick and put him back on top.

Hopefully with a big John Williams score to go alone with it.

Williams need to do one more collaboration with Spielberg to make it an even 30 feature films. He's actually already done more collaborations with Spielberg than that if you count TV and short films.

They'd need to hurry up. Williams is 700 years old.

It sucks that they didn't do well, but both are great films.

I would like to see The Fablemans as it's a semi autobiographical movie on Spielberg's upbringing. I just haven't gotten to it yet. I'm sure he'll get to direct a few more blockbuster type movies if he still wants to do that at this point in his career. Last new Spielberg movie I watched was Ready Player One and really liked it.

The last movie I liked from mr Spielberg was Bridge of Spies. The beginning of The Post was ok, but at the end there wasn't much interesting going on other than suspense do they publish the files or not. However, the latest masterpiece from him is Munich (2005).

I get the feeling he's about to be pretty much retired. The way he's talked in interviews about the Fabelmans. It really does sound like a man making speeches at his retirement party. Like finally telling his life story was the big wrap up.
