WTF Happened to MIKE MYERS?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=49Pt_Drkyfo

In our latest episode we take a look at the funnyman genius that is Mike Myers, who has had a long career of hilarious and memorable characters (and a few not-so-memorable ones) throughout his film and TV career thus far. Myers first rose to prominence with his various performances on SNL, even translating one of them, WAYNE'S WORLD, to the big screen with great success. He followed that up with the oft-forgotten gem SO I MARRIED AN AXE MURDERER and then a sequel to WAYNE'S WORLD, before giving us the cultural phenomenon that is AUSTIN POWERS: INTERNATIONAL MAN OF MYSTERY. Two sequels (and a few smaller films) later, Myers dabbled in Dr. Suess with THE CAT IN THE HAT, which bombed at the box office and put Myers off the live-action grid, instead continuing his voiceover work for the famous animated SHREK series. He returned four years later with THE LOVE GURU, which sadly didn't get much love in theaters. After an almost unrecognizable appearance in Quentin Tarantino's INGLORIOUS BASTERDS, Myers disappeared from live action films, only recently returning for the Oscar-winning BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY. What gives? Where's he been? Why has he denied us his comedy genius for so long and will he be back? Join us as we catch up and find out WTF happened to Mike Myers!

One of the most amazing articles I've ever read (in Entertainment Weekly no less) was about how gleeful so many people in Hollywood were when the Love Guru bombed. Very few of them went on record and the ones who did gave scathing "left-handed" compliments at best. They even interviewed Meyers himself.

He was not his own best advocate.

Much of the article was about how horrible/difficult he was to work with once he became successful and specific ways he screwed people over.

That's basically it. He made some huge flops that lost a lot of money, and since he'd made a lot of enemies, he didn't get any second chances.

The guy is reported to be quite a jerk behind the scenes.

Why do you cite these terrible clickbaity articles and youtube videos? Not to hate, but if you want us to discuss a question, why not just ask instead of linking and citing the same horrible videos narrated by fake douchebags? Looper and WatchMojo are NOT reliable sources.

To answer your question: Mike Myers is infamous for being a complete asshole and nearly impossible to work with. After The Love Guru flopped, he kinda gave up.

Did he give up or did Hollywood give up on him for being as you said a "complete asshole and nearly impossible to work with"? And why are you, yourself a more reliable source simply because I'm supposed to take your own word?
