Wilson did carry him through castaway though...

I think even the great Olivier would have been upstaged by Wilson. An acting coup de gras if there ever was one. That look that Wilson gave him as he slowly disappeared over the waves said so much with no words having been spoken.. Wow.

In all seriousness, I don't like Hanks the person, but he has proven to be one of the greatest actors of all time, not just our generation.

When watching two films he was in when his character was the same age and wore almost the same haircut, I saw Jim Lovell and Forrest Gump, not Tom Hanks. Amazing.

After seeing his reactions at the Ricky Gervais jokes at the Golden Globes Awards I totally agree that he is a prick, living in his golden Hollywood actor self-indulging elitist bubble.

I have to agree, I was really disappointed to see his reactions, kind of blew away any notion I had of him being “the nicest guy in Hollywood.” I’m not sure if it was the cameras catching him during quiet moments and the editing in a way to make him look like an uptight, pompous ass, but something tells me they weren’t lying.
