Why is it spelt Ralph then? It's very common in the English language for the pronunciation not to match the spelling.

I always thought he should have changed the spelling just for his professional moniker. That would have eliminated the constant confusion that a lot of people have about it. Raph, Raphe or Rafe just for professional purposes.

The name is pronounced Ralph, like in Ralph Cramden. This guy is just pretentious. It's like guys named Steven calling themselves "Stefan".
