FIRST & LAST CONCERT YOU ATTENDED.

FIRST...I SAW JARS OF CLAY FOR FREE WHILE WORKING AT THE VENUE...AND DAVID GRAY WITH THE "WIFE" AND HER EX WHILE ATTEMMPTING TO NOT CHOKE HIS ASS OUT THE WHOLE TIME.

FIRST CONCERT I PAID FOR AND ENJOYED THOUGH WAS FAMILY VALUES TOUR 2007...KORN SOUNDED LIKE SHIT...BUT ATREYU WERE SPECTACULAR...AND ALI WAS THERE INSIDE HER MOTHER.

LAST...JOAN JETT...THE BLACKHEARTS DIDN'T SHOW FOR SOME REASON...THE TICKETS UNDERSOLD...ANYWAY THEY MOVED THE CONCERT INTO THE GIANT BAR ARENA AT THE INDIAN RESERVATION...I WAS 10 FEET FROM JOAN JETT AND SHE DID A TWO AND A HALF HOUR ACCOUSTIC SET THAT WAS FUCKING INSANE.

YOUR TURN...

First: Chicago-Central Park, NYC-1977 (I was ten years old and it was also the first time I ever smelled the devil's lettuce!)

Last: Chappell Roan at a club in Vermont in March...

reply

I do not remember now the first one, Michael Jackson in Madrid was one of the first. The last "ABBA" in London.

Well, I'm supposed to go to see Styx & Foreigner on Tuesday, however the friend I'm supposed to go with is giving me the cold shoulder over me sending a text that said "The weather on Tuesday night is supposed to be beautiful and will be a nice comfortable evening" and she sends me a reply telling me to stop stressing over the weather and I thought it was ignorant after I just spent $700.00 on 2 concert tickets!! I'm one hell of a friend who does that and she's not my girlfriend, doesn't want to be my girlfriend nor even have sex with me and I'm sorry, but I feel like much of this is her problem, not mine.. I suppose we have 2 days to resolve this because I will be furious if she goes with someone else over something as trivial as what I said??

reply

The "tickle your ass with a feather" bit only works when spoken. Doesn't work with text.

reply

Life's too short for this bullshit.. It's unreal

reply

Typical nasty weather.

reply

I’ll go! I love both bands - have all their albums and have seen them both live numerous times.

reply

I hope it's awesome and hope I'm going considering I'm the one who bought them.. 🙄

reply

So, you bought the tickets, but she is in possession of them 😬

reply

Yes because I purchased them and did so on her Smartphone which is apparently how they do it now and I don't have a Smartphone and truth be told, don't really want one and perfectly happy with my dated flip phone which text and calls and receives calls like a normal phone, just not a $1000.00 pocket lap top is all.. Any way, this is how Live Nation and or Ticketmaster does it now is Digital.. I did receive physical tickets for Billy Joel & Sting in Sept and took 10-14 days to receive them.. I'm old school.. What can I say?? I have a hard time with change sometimes

reply

Yep, I’ve been to over a thousand concerts and I’m familiar with how Ticketmaster, Live Nation et al operate. If I get the option of physical tickets, I always take it because I keep the stubs to remind me of the gigs that I’ve been to.

Quite often I get VIP tickets, so I get laminates, but when it’s e-ticket only, I understand the convenience, however, I often feel that this method can be discriminatory (and I’m talking air travel here too); I’ve had many occasion when I’ve been in airport lounges (I regularly travel internationally) trying to help out old folks that have got no chance understanding how QR codes work.

reply

I'm praying she doesn't do the unthinkable and screw me over after 15 years of friendship over a whole lot of nothing

reply

I hope for your sake you’re right, however, from what you’ve said so far, it doesn’t bode well - I hope I’m wrong!

Let us know how the gig went. Hopefully, you’ll have a blast 🤘🎸

reply

Ok, it's all worked out and she's fine and there was simply a misunderstanding on her part, but it's cool.. Rock on Tuesday night!! 🎸🎷

reply

If it goes sideways you can write her your own version of "Babe."

"Babe I hate you."

reply

Brutal situation. I’m thinking you’re gonna have to talk to her about it rather than let it linger.

reply

Tonight is STYX & FOREIGNER, however a 3rd act has been added and that is John Waite from The BABY'S.. The way I'm thinking, it's a Tuesday night, people have to get up and go to work and when people get off, they're not pulling into the driveway until close to 6PM and 7PM, therefore, FOREIGNER probably said fuck playing to an empty Ampitheatre, will get a 3rd act til people show up.. In any event I'm excited and it all worked out with my friend and ended up being a miscommunication with the Text she sent.. And this is why I still prefer over the phone or face to face contact and conversation over Texting..

reply

John Waite is a super artist (as are The Babys).

I’m sure you’ll have a blast!

We want to hear a full report 🤘🎸

reply

I just got back from STYX & FOREIGNER with JOHN WAITE and all 3 knocked it out of the Park, but if I'm going to go with who was the best?? It would have to be FOREIGNER just knocking out the hits one after the other and 2nd would be John Waite and his rendition of "Whole Lotta of Lovin" by Led Zeppelin and of course STYX was Fantastic and I guess they found the voice to replace Dennis DeYoung, but I'm still a Purist, And Tommy Shaw is singing his songs, but not as often and lead vocals has been taken over by the new replacement for Dennis DeYoung and I forgot his name, but he was quite showman with his sparkling Tux on doing dance moves while he played the organ and sang.. Overall, this was a great night and a long night.. Oh, and some old dude got carried away and was playing air piano that ended up with his hands playing piano on my head!! The old dude said he just got carried away, but good for him.. Next concert will be Billy Joel & STING on Sept 27th at Busch Stadium.. Oh, and the seats I had for STYX & FOREIGNER were in the 9th Row from the stage..
