Why Do So Many Hosts "Fake Laugh"?

It's so fucking stupid. Conformist. They pay these people millions a dollar a year, but if you look, their parents were rich and it's a big club, and we ain't in it!

And don't get me started on the 12-yr valley talk. "Um, like" non-stop. Thinking stupidity is a virtue.

And then you have superfluous edit cuts (which edit nothing except a second). "It's a style" some say. What's the point of creating a movie, song, etc., if it's copied from someone else? Not that unique is good in of itself, but at least there's a chance. As much as I love old movies, I don't really wanna see more of the 50s three-act with stories cardboard cut-out movies, saccharine everything, even the music - strings, trombone, maybe a trumpet. Maybe even a timpani.

OK, enough, can't type anymore. Dizzy, trouble breathing, and still sweating an hour after I took a shower. My entire body is shaking after having to use a weedwhacker to cut my entire yard. 2 hours!

Maybe tp put their guests at ease?

I’m really not sure what you’re talking about. Hosts of what? The rest of your post seems random AF too. Sorry, I don’t get it.

I do hope you’re feeling better after your episode though :)

reply

"AF" - I don't know what you're talking about. Speak English!

Personally, I hate how the laughter track seems to have migrated into podcasts. So Conan's pod has a woman who laughs breathlessly at his every joke like it's the funniest thing she's ever heard, and Behind the Bastards has a producer who's always giggling away and saying, "That's, like, so funny!", even when it isn't.

It's incredibly annoying and ruins the podcasts to a large degree.

reply

Laugh tracks in general made even laughter, an involuntary response, fake.

Jimmy Fallon's laugh sounds the fakest if them all. Even when it's genuine, it sounds fake as hell.

I dislike watching late night shows & celebrity interviews in general. They're almost always super awkward, sound fake as hell & at times, cringe inducing to watch.

reply

Right.. They should find someone genuinely funny to avoid the fakeness.

If you like a great interviewer, Tony Thomas from Canada was a great one. There's a few others on YouTube, depending on exactly what you like

Jimmy Fallon is a guy I've always hated, from the first time I saw his smug, fake puss. Truly an example of the peter principle. But, yaknow, some people like him. But then again, yaknow, some people are stupid.

Probably because it is just a job for them.
